The Redmi K60 Ultra made a commitment to receive four years of Android updates, just as Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC-equipped Redmi K60 Ultra was introduced last week in China. As of right now, Xiaomi has committed to providing the newest flagship phone with four generations of Android updates and five years of security patches. As the second group of devices to receive the MIUI 15 Android skin, the Redmi K60 Ultra is also included. A 50-megapixel sensor serves as the primary lens for the Redmi K60 Ultra’s triple rear cameras. With 120W of rapid charging capabilities, it has a 5,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi, via its official Weibo handle, announced a new Android update policy for the Redmi K60 Ultra aka Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, on Wednesday (August 23). The phone is also going to be the first in line to get Android 14-based MIUI 15.

The Redmi K60 Ultra models are the first from the brand to be guaranteed to receive software upgrades for a longer length of time, and the promised update cycle is presently valid to those models in China. Although the company has not acknowledged this move, it is anticipated that the device will make its debut in areas outside of China as the Xiaomi 13T Pro.

Additionally, OnePlus is well-known for its flagship device update schedule. The three Android version updates and five years of security patches for Google’s Pixel smartphones are also guaranteed.

It sports a triple back camera system with an optical image stabilization (OIS) 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 20-megapixel front camera as well for taking photos and video calls.
